Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2016
To gain admission to seats for master’s degree in various courses in Tamil Nadu, candidates have to appear for the (TANCET) 2016. Admission to courses offered by Anna University and some other Government Aided colleges are all determined by the ranking in TANCET. Once the candidate has appeared in TANCET, he will be eligible to apply for seat with the concerned authorities in various colleges with his marks obtained in the exam.
TANCET 2017 Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria to apply for this test will vary according to the course chosen. For MBA, MCA, ME or MCA lateral entry, the minimum requirement is that the candidate has completed a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for students eligible for quota seats). It is also required that students had taken Mathematics as a main subject either in higher secondary school level or at the undergraduate level. Candidates who have acquired the undergrad degree through distance education are not eligible to appear for TANCET and for admission. Similarly candidates who have not completed the standard higher secondary education (10, 10+2) are also not eligible.
TANCET 2017 Application Procedure
To apply for TANCET, candidates can register online or in person through the coordinating centers. It is essential to carry the original mark sheet and the demand draft in person if registering directly. If registering online, the filled form should be sent along with the required documents. The application fees is set at Rs.500 and should be submitted as a demand draft. The fee is Rs.250 for TamilNadu SC ST candidates. Once the registration process is complete, the candidate will get a hall ticket. The registration number in the hall ticket is essential at the time of admission and the hall ticket is essential to gain entry to the TANCET exam.
